Brief Zenmed Derma Cleanse Review
ZenMed Derma Cleanse is a three-step system used to treat and prevent acne. This involves using cleansing, treating, and prevention products. Aside from the cleanser and treating gel, ZenMed also involves taking an herbal capsule that is designed to control acne internally. Unfortunately, most companies who claim to be able to control acne internally fail to back up their claims with scientific proven results.
Overview of Zenmed Ingredients
There are many ingredients used in the ZenMed system. Some are proven to be effective for treating acne, others are not. The cleanser includes ingredients like Witch Hazel and Chamomile, which can be effective topical cleansers. It also includes ingredients like Yarrow Root, Sage, and Rosemary. There is no scientific research that proves these products help acne in any way.
The ZenMed acne gel contains Salicylic Acid, which is a very effective acne treatment ingredient. This product clears the pores and encourages natural skin cell replacement. The Derma cleanse capsules are a combination of Chinese and Indian herbs, such as Burdock, Dandelion and Milk Thistle that supposedly support the skin from the inside out. However, there is no scientific research to back up these claims.
Positives
The primary benefit of ZenMed is the use of Salicylic Acid in its treatment gel. With every purchase of the three-step system, ZenMed also includes a free Sebum Regulating Moisturizer. This is a new product that they are introducing to their line-up. Another plus is that users of ZenMed claim that this product does not dry out the skin like so many other acne treatments.
Negatives
The ZenMed website unfortunately does not provide any scientific research to prove the effectiveness of the ingredients used in the cleanser and capsules. Effective acne-treating ingredients like Silicol Dioxide, Inflacin, or QuSomes are not used at all. The website also does not offer a free trial of the product. However, they do offer a refund if you are not satisfied with the product in the first 60 days and send the bottles back used or unused.
They recommend that you not use their capsules for more than 6 months at a time. It is not known if or why this will cause a negative reaction. It is also unclear as to why acne would not return after discontinued use of the products. Another drawback of ZenMed is the cost. A one-month supply is $100! Because of the natural ingredients used in the products, the smell can be rather unpleasant for the user.
Zenmed Derma Cleanse Review Conclusion
The idea of treating acne both topically and internally is a great one. However, it seems to be still a mystery as there is not much scientific data to back up these claims. For the amount you have to pay for ZenMed, it might be best to stick with something that is tried and and tested.
