Stridex cleansing pads – inexpensive, but do they work?
Stridex is possibly the most well known acne treatment available in America. At least it’s the first one I can remember using as a teenager. Stridex is best known for its cleansing pads, which contain 1% salicylic acid. They have also released a Dual Solutions line to provide cleansing pads with 2% salicylic acid and treatment gel with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in one convenient package.
You’ve probably tried Stridex in the past or at least seen it in your local supermarket. It’s an inexpensive and readily available product, which is why most acne sufferers have tried it at least once. Its availability may be the only positive thing that Stridex has going for it. Most people seem less than thrilled with the results.
“It is also the worst product I have ever used. It does nothing but dry your skin,” said one user from Pennsylvania. Mario in California said that Stridex is decent for cleaning the skin: “I used this and I think it was only good for cleaning the dirt and oil that was on my face” but not for preventing acne. He says that “if you have scars it makes it look worse and redder.” Definitely not what you want when trying to rid yourself of acne.
Stridex Max can be very drying to the skin even though it does not contain alcohol. Though she said it helped as a spot treatment on specific pimples, one girl said, “It just dried my skin out like crazy, even after I moisturized, my skin was still peeling.” A boy named Ryan said that Stridex is “very inconsistent” in treating his acne. He also said that it is very drying and that it had no effect on cystic acne.
It seems that most people choose Stridex because of its low price not because of any real success in stopping acne. If you’re serious about controlling your acne and having the look that you’ve always wanted, I recommend that you try a different product.
You may enjoy using Exposed Acne Treatment System, which has healed the acne of many people. I’ll share a few comments Exposed users have made (and, no, these didn’t come from the “testimonials” on Exposed’s web site).
- “It took away the oil but didn’t make my skin dry.”
- “Works better than creams & gels that have been prescribed by my dermatologist. As long as you stick with the process, your skin will maintain its clarity. Spot treating works extremely well.”
- “Quick ship, good service when I called them and the product really seems to be working.”
- “My skin looks great after 2 weeks of use. Exposed has cleared up my acne completely and my skin is soft and smooth.”
Yes, Exposed Acne Treatment will cost more than Stridex but the results are so much better. Serious acne sufferers need serious treatment, and Stridex just isn’t serious. If you enjoy playing around with your breakouts, keep using Stridex
