The old adage, “you are what you eat†cannot be truer than when it comes to common causes of acne. Often individuals who do not consume a healthy diet or whose diet lacks the proper amount of critical vitamins and minerals find that their acne is worse or flares up after bad food. Your body must be healthy before your skin can improve so strive to eat a well balanced diet. If you are experiencing acne problems,look first at the nutrition value of your current diet. Banish Fats, Oils, and Sugars and I have removed anything white from my sons diet, like white rice, white pasta,white bread, sugar and all soft drink. I have him eating 3 meals a day rich in protein, low GI carbs and high in omega 3. eg breakfast scrambled eggs and spinach (no bread) lunch tuna and salad with avocado, dinner salmon or baked fish and veges and he snacks on yoghurt and almonds and brazil nuts. I have upped his water intake to two litres a day. Seriously, his acne is improving. I am also insisting that he washes it morning and night and he applies vitamin A at night and zinc in the morning. ( His constant whinging about me making him do this gets a bit much, but my tough regime seems to be helping)
Many individuals do not receive the proper daily recommended dose of vitamins or minerals in their diet. For this reason, you should look into including supplements in your daily health regimen. My son is on Vitamin A and Zinc also in capsule form
I work in a cosmetic clinic and they are introducing bluelaser light treatment now for acne. It has only just arrived, so not sure on results but will keep you posted as if it works. (expensive treatment) We do alot of treatments for acne scars with a thing called dermaroller. You can google it to find out about it.I will do a seperate post on it because it is a bit complicated.
