Biore Unclogging Scrub Review

For those suffering from acne, one of the first things dermatologist will recommend is using a good facial scrub that removes the oils from your skin and cleans deep down into your pores. There are many products that claim to do just that. Unclogging Scrub by Biore is just one such product making such a claim. In fact, the official site states that Biore Unclogging scrub "purges pores of blemish causing dirt, oil and black heads." It then turns around and states that it is an excellent pretreatment to use before using the biopore deep cleaning pore strips.

So which is it? A pretreatment or a deep cleaning pore cleaner? Let's examine the product and find out.

Ingredients:

Biore Unclogging scrub contains almost 30 ingredients including: water, sodium cocoyl, glycerine, synthetic wax and fragrance. While most of the ingredients may well help to clean pores there are two ingredients that do raise some concerns. First, it seems like manufacturing a face scrub containing wax, synthetic or otherwise might actually help to clog rather than unclog pores. Second, is the use of fragrance in this product. Not only may some people be allergic to the fragrance used in biopore but, with more and more people demanding more natural skin products adding fragrance to this product seems to go against current trends and customer desires. That being said, the question remains Does this product work?

There seems to be scattered reviews regarding Biore's Unclogging Scrub. Some users seem to like it, others claiming it is worthless. It should be noted however, that even among many of the reviewers who like the product and stated that their skin looked smooth and felt clean they also added that Biore did not help with either the redness caused by acne or the acne itself. This would lead one to the conclusion, that this unclogging scrub while it may exfoliate and even moisturize, it either does not "reach deep down into the pores where pimples start" as the product claims or once it reaches deep down it fails to clean.

Of course since the official Biore site made two different statements regarding this product they can always state that the product was not meant to clear acne on it's own but, was only meant to be a pretreatment to be used with the pore strips. However, it seems the two confusing statements were used for the purpose of encouraging people to believe that this unclogging scrub would indeed help clear up acne and it may. However, judging by the Biore Unclogging Scrub reviews, the results are no better than people would get when using plain soap and water to keep their face free of acne causing oils and dirt.

Conclusion

While Biore's Unclogging Scrub does seem to leave ones face feeling smoother and cleaner it does not seem to actively fight acne as promised on their website. Users would be better off to spend their $8.00 on a face cleaning product that actually worked.
