Actifade is a product that is used to fade scars, age spots, and other types of discoloration on the surface of the skin. This cream is designed to fade especially hard to rid scarring caused by acne or other skin conditions. Actifade comes in two different bottles, one is a tube and the other is a jar. This product does not make claims of curing wrinkles, but it does state that if you use a smoother and brightener such as Actifade, that you will eventually look much younger.

How Does Actifade Work?

Actifade comes in a few different varieties that are designed to target different skin coloration problems. The manufacturer offers different price ranges as well. Two products are available through the website and one is available in some stores depending on where you live and demand for this product. Ingredients for this product are not even listed, so it’s hard to determine if they would be beneficial for skin coloration problems.  Most products that are similar work by slowly lightening the skin. Some may use a bleaching agent, which is harsh and damaging. Others may use a more natural substance to gradually fade scars and discoloration.

Looking at the Actifade ingredients you can see that there are a lot of fillers and chemicals. There are absolutely no significantly beneficial ingredients except for Shea Butter.

Pros:

This product is easy to find. Many drugstores sell this product so that you can easily test it and determine if it is right for you. They are also more likely to accept returns for it as compared to a website or company that may be a bit “shady.”

Cons:

Actifade has very few reviews and photos proving any of the things it claims to do. This is a major downfall for the company. Apparently they are confident enough in their formula to think that testimonials and photos are not necessary to sell it. The ingredient list is also mysteriously unavailable, though the in store products contain a list. Still, the chances of someone having an allergy to an ingredient in the product are very high. This poses a danger for those interested in making a purchase.

These products are also extremely expensive. You can probably find a high quality fade cream for a fraction of the cost.

Final Thoughts

If you are going to buy Actifade in the drugstore, look around for something better. If you plan on buying online, then beware. This product does claim to lighten skin discolorations – a major concern for men and women of all ages. However, there is absolutely no proof backing Actifade up to suggest that it would be beneficial. If you really wanted to spend that much cash on a fading discoloration, you should probably seek laser skin therapy.
